About Me
Hi, I'm Davide. I'm a curious person, always looking for new visual and technological inspiration. To me, creativity isn't just an abstract concept, but something to be built with the right tools.
My main passions:
- Video Making, Editing, and Photography: I love telling stories through images. Whether it’s composing the perfect shot or editing a video sequence with the right rhythm, I always aim to convey an emotion and a clear message.
- Coding and Web Development: The technical side of my creativity. I enjoy understanding how things work behind the scenes and writing code to bring websites and interactive projects to life.
- Exploration and Nature (The Extra): When I’m not in front of a screen or behind the camera, I enjoy exploring and walking in nature. It’s often there that I find inspiration for the shots and colors of my next projects.
My Interests: Beyond the digital world, I have a strong passion for filmmaking, which I study to better understand the storytelling techniques used by great directors. I also constantly keep up with politics, history, and economics, as I believe that communicating effectively with the world — especially through media — requires understanding how the world itself works and evolves.
My Apprenticeship
I am currently in the fourth year of my apprenticeship as a Mediamatician, combined with a vocational baccalaureate at SPAI Locarno.
But what exactly is a Mediamatician? It is a hybrid and versatile professional role that acts as a bridge between different fields, combining skills in IT, graphic design, multimedia, and marketing. We learn how to manage a digital project from start to finish, from programming a website to creating its design, videos, and promotional strategy.
My Intercompany Courses
During my apprenticeship, I have attended several intercompany courses (CI) that allowed me to put specific skills into practice intensively and in professional environments. I covered focused topics such as photography techniques (including Still Life photography), IT network configuration, and project management, expanding my technical skill set beyond my regular work and school routine.
Timeline of my Projects
To select a project, simply click on it.
An intensive, full-time year that laid the solid foundations of my education. I acquired the essential basic skills to navigate graphic design, IT, and marketing, while developing a strong interest from the very beginning in the dynamics and endless possibilities of the mediamatics field.
A project strongly focused on organization and corporate support. I was responsible for analyzing and extracting relevant data, preparing documentation for onboarding new apprentices, and providing direct support for the IT infrastructure, assisting my Coach with technical management.
An exciting experience where I combined logic, innovation, and out-of-the-box thinking. I learned the basics of Python programming by applying them directly to a LEGO Robot, while documenting the entire process through a detailed daily journal. The culmination of this intense teamwork was achieving first place at European level in one of the competition’s categories, a milestone that rewarded our dedication and technical precision.
In this role, I took an important step toward independently managing projects. I focused on creating multimedia content, such as photographs and flyers, as well as writing technical guides using OneNote. I also managed essential administrative processes, such as invoicing, significantly improving my organizational and project management skills.
An important and dynamic hands-on experience outside the traditional office environment. I learned advanced practical techniques, from fiber optic splicing to using professional measurement tools such as OTDR and EXFO. Working under tight deadlines and installing Swisscom devices, including routers, TVs, and Gigaset phones, taught me to adapt quickly and collaborate effectively with different teams.
In this role, I strengthened my skills in video making and editing, managing the entire creative process: from concept development and scriptwriting to filming, editing, and final delivery. I created multimedia content for Region 3 Swisscom Shops and internal tutorial videos. Additionally, my collaboration on Swisscom’s B2B podcast with Paolo Bortone allowed me to further develop my project management skills and improve my ability to work with different stakeholders. This experience has made me fully independent in video production and client management, laying a strong foundation for my transition into leadership roles.
I received the following feedback from the Swisscom Shop Manager in Lugano during my TeamMultimedia project as a Producer:
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share some feedback on the work done for the vertical videos:
Overall, the project was managed very well, and I noticed a great deal of availability, speed, and attention to the quality of the final result. One of the aspects I appreciated most was the use of AI for audio translation: it was a smart and effective solution that helped speed up the process while maintaining a good level of quality. It is an innovative approach that demonstrates openness to new tools and a mindset focused on optimizing the workflow.
The speed of execution and editing was also very positive. The deadlines were managed quickly and in an organized manner, allowing us to have content ready in a short time without sacrificing quality. This greatly helped the project workflow and made it possible to move quickly through revisions and publications.
From a creative and technical perspective, the quality of the videos and editing was really good. The content was clear, dynamic, and well suited to the vertical format, with a modern style that successfully maintained attention and made the messages easy to follow. The pacing, transitions, and final presentation also contributed to creating a professional and polished result.
I also appreciated your openness to new ideas, suggestions, and new videos to create. Your willingness to discuss and experiment made the collaboration very positive and constructive, creating an environment focused not only on execution, but also on the continuous improvement of content and formats.
As an area for improvement, which I nevertheless see as a positive opportunity for growth in the workflow, I believe we could focus even more on communication during the creation and management of scripts. Having a more structured alignment on the content and organization of the scripts could make the process even smoother and more efficient, facilitating both production and any future revisions.
Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would like to thank you for your collaboration, speed, availability, and open approach throughout the entire project. I am happy to continue working with you.
Best regards,
Simo
A natural evolution of my journey, where I have taken on leadership responsibilities. I am responsible for planning and organizing the team’s activities, coordinating the work, and ensuring that each project strictly follows the established timelines and processes. At the same time, I continue to work as a Producer, managing projects from the initial planning stage through to final delivery. This dual role is allowing me to further develop my leadership, communication, and project management skills in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Unfortunately, the work carried out here within the company was and still is subject to confidentiality. scopo interno e non posso mostrarli.
Future Plans
I never stop looking ahead. My next major goals are divided between academic education and creative production:
- Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication: My primary goal is to enroll at SUPSI to further explore design, communication, and visual impact at a university level.
- Short Film Production: I want to make the most of my photography equipment and video-making skills to start writing, filming, and producing independent short films, putting my directing and storytelling vision to the test.
